Hygienist Using DrQuickLook
I get a lot of questions regarding the use of DrQuickLook™ in my hygiene operatories. The ease of use factor is readily apparent in the hygiene operatory with no prompting on my part being required to have my hygienists use the viewer. Using DrQuickLook™ has become an integral part of the patient visit. The most basic function is to show the patient their mouth before it gets the royal treatment. My hygienists use this function to make the patient understand the value of consistent continuous care and to justify the work they are about to have done. I don’t think most patients realize what things look like before a routine cleaning and the effort that the hygienist has to put forth to arrive at the end of the visit. This is an easy and foolproof way to make sure the patient schedules their next visit at the time of the cleaning appointment. Patients who tend to feel that your fees are too expensive for “just a cleaning” will feel more value based on the images they see.
My hygienists have learned to show the patient anything obvious they see. At the time of my exam, I will use DrQuickLook™ to review any issues that imaging would help clarify or validate. I like the idea of showing the patient an image even though they just saw it with the hygienist. It’s like them getting a second opinion. When they come for treatment, they may well see that image yet another time. You just can’t show the patient enough images – especially with DrQuickLook™. It’s so easy to use and takes so little time that it just makes sense to use it as often as possible. Reviewing the treatment creates an environment of trust and makes explanations a breeze.
When I use DrQuickLook™ in hygiene, I feel that I am being efficient with each and every patient that’s seen. When I look at my schedule – it shows!
